Our Roof Installation Process
Understanding the complexity of roofing installation, and the importance of a well-planned roofing project, is crucial to a successful outcome.
At Russell Quality Roofing, we specialize in installing Owens Corning asphalt architectural shingles and standing seam metal roofing for both residential and commercial properties. Our offerings include a range of commercial-grade architectural shingles, durable metal roofing options, and the Owens Corning DeckSeal 3-ply system for limited flat and low-slope residential applications. We exclusively use Owens Corning UDL 50 underlayment on every roofing project.
Professional Bid for Roofing Project
- We discuss the manufacturer and materials available to you, including the engineering behind popular options like architectural shingles.
- We walk through a complete review of your building, including an outline of safety and quality considerations specific to your property.
- We provide a clear, project-based estimate so you know exactly what to expect.
Pre-Site Strategy Meeting for Roof Installation
- We identify the arrival strategy for equipment and crew.
- We discuss the property organization needed to complete the roof safely and efficiently.
- We talk through intake and exhaust ventilation with you to make sure your home or building is properly accommodated.
- We identify the logistics for removing existing materials.
- We take a complete digital record of the exterior of the home and surrounding property.
- Documentation begins with this first on-site meeting.
Removal / Tear Off Existing Roof System
- This is the most important step in the process. Proper removal of the existing roof system is essential to maintaining a safe, sound roof deck.
- We inspect the decking for damage and make any necessary repairs before moving forward.
- We identify any additional repairs needed before the rebuild begins.
- We dry in everything torn off that day, following manufacturer installation specifications and local building codes, and seal any exposed nails to prevent leaks.
- All flex points and access points are properly dried in and flashed to keep water out.
- A tear-off and dry-in inspection happens before installation of the Total Protection Roof System begins.
Installation of Your New Total Protection Roof System
- We plan carefully to make sure roofing materials are installed according to manufacturer warranty specifications.
- Every course is checked to ensure a cohesive installation that lines up to shingle manufacturer specifications, including proper installation of ridge cap shingles for both protection and appearance.
- We ventilate the building for proper exhaust, with intake ventilation confirmed at the pre-site strategy meeting.
- A final cleanup and inspection is completed by at least two qualified team members, confirming the roof was installed correctly and the materials are free of defects.
- You’ll receive documentation, including photos, as part of that final assessment.
Final Roof Inspection and Closeout
- We prepare all paperwork for manufacturer warranty registration.
- We organize the digital photos, inspection records, and job correspondence to close out the project.
- We prepare your final invoice and collect final payment once the work is complete.
- We close with a final meeting to review your paperwork and warranty documentation together, and talk through the value of your investment, including improved curb appeal and any structural issues that were resolved along the way.
