When people in a neighboring community are facing a difficult situation, sometimes the most important thing you can do is find a way to help.
As wildfire activity impacted the Spokane community and first responders continued their work on the front lines, Russell Quality Roofing wanted to turn that desire to help into something tangible. We also knew we were surrounded by businesses and community members who would be willing to do the same.
What followed was four days of generosity, teamwork, and an impressive reminder of how quickly people can come together for a common purpose.
Four Days and 4,734 Donated Items
Russell Quality Roofing established a donation drop-off location at the Lewiston Rodeo Grounds and invited other local businesses to help collect needed supplies for the Spokane community and first responders.
The challenge lasted just four days. By the end, participating businesses and organizations had contributed 4,734 donated items.
That response went far beyond what one business could accomplish alone. It became a community effort, with businesses from throughout the area contributing supplies, sharing the donation challenge, and encouraging others to get involved.

Delivering the Donations to Spokane
On Friday, August 14, 2026, the collected supplies made their way to Spokane.
President Reuben Russell, Northern Division Operations Manager Dylon Russell, and Accounts Payable Clerk Jillian Knutson traveled to deliver the donations. Jillian organized the donation effort and helped bring together the many pieces needed to turn the idea into action in only a few days.
The donated items were distributed among three organizations serving the community:
By working with established organizations already serving people in the area, the donations could reach community members and those working on the front lines where support was needed.
What Community Support Looks Like
Russell Quality Roofing is a locally owned and operated business, and being part of the Inland Northwest means more to us than simply working here.
It means paying attention to what is happening around us. It means recognizing when another community is going through a difficult time. Most importantly, it means being willing to help when there is an opportunity to do so.
Wildfires can disrupt everyday life very quickly. While a donation drive cannot replace everything someone may have lost, it can provide useful supplies, support organizations doing important work, and remind people that neighboring communities are thinking about them.
Thank You to Everyone Who Helped

Russell Quality Roofing would like to thank every business, organization, employee, and community member who participated in the Spokane wildfire relief donation challenge.
Whether you donated a few items, contributed hundreds, helped organize supplies, shared the challenge with others, or assisted with delivery, you played a role in making this effort possible.
We are especially grateful to the local businesses that answered the call so quickly and generously.
These donations represent neighbors helping neighbors and local businesses using their resources to support a community in need.
When there is an opportunity to show up for one another, that is exactly what a strong community does.
